About This Blog
This is my blog WHEN WEDNESDAY COMES -FANTASY FOOTBALL, which at first was just me going on about how I was trying to win the Telegraph Fantasy Football game at work. But over time I've added more and more stuff to it for other Fantasy games:
It includes useful Fantasy Football links to help other players like:
- Latest injury news
- Suspended players
- Highest scoring players (Top 3 Goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers)
- Telegraph Transfer Password (Football and Cricket) Every Wednesday.
- Premiership Man Of the Match Awards
- FA Cup Man of the Match Awards
- Assists for all point scoring games
- Update of how my team is doing at work (not good at present!)
There are links for Other football stuff like
- 2006 World Cup including FIFA, and English FA (COME ON ENGLAND!)
- 2006 World Cup Draw and groups
- Euro 2008 site
- Euro 2008 Draw and groups
- Footie news headlines from sky and BBC, including premiership news
- All premiership website links
- Halftime fun - a great set of free games when you want a break.
There are links for Fantasy Cricket fans too:
- Cricket transfer password
- International Cricket Transfer Password
- Latest cricket scores
- latest cricket headlines
Next year the 2007 Cricket world cup too!
And I post entries on anything I find interesting in the world of football. Bill Shankly had the right idea:
"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."
Please support this blog by telling your mates about it if you have a minute! The more people who check out this blog the more chance there is that I will keep on doing it.
For all you other bloggers I've added a post called how-to-explode-blog-traffic that you might find useful!
Thanks for all your support

Clough Quotes
Clough was in my opinion a brilliant manager and here are a few of his quotes followed by one by his son.
I remember when he bought Trevor Francis and the press were asking Trevor when he would be playing. B Clough’s voice away from the cameras shouted ‘ When I pick him’ .
"I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one" - On his own success.
"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there" - On the importance of passing the ball to feet.
"I only ever hit Roy the once. He got up so I couldn't have hit him very hard" - On dealing with Roy Keane.
"We talk about it for 20 minutes and then we decide I was right" - On dealing with players who disagree with him.
"At last England have appointed a manager who speaks English better than the players" - On the appointment of Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"I'm sure the England selectors thought if they took me on and gave me the job, I'd want to run the show. They were shrewd because that's exactly what I would have done" - On not getting the England manager's job.
"I was told I wouldn’’t be as good as Brian Clough - and most of the time it was Dad Telling me" Nigel Clough

Henry Returns
He got a hat-trick and I think 3 assists so hopefully that will lift me a few places.
Most of the teams above me dont think he is worth the 9 million price tag, but I
think if he sorts out a contract he will scored a load more goals.
I also did a couple of subs on friday, I replaced toure with the new Man U defender
Evra (bad move due to city beating them 3-1) due to the Man U replay on Tuesday
night and replaced Park with Gerrard in\midfield,
maybe a good move if Gerrard gets man of the match again.
I'll publish those tomorrow morning.

Sven is 5 Today
Sven began with five consecutive victories, the first England boss to achieve such a sequence, and the Swede has now taken the team to two World Cups and one European Championship. Three tournaments, three qualifications.
But can you guess who was in his first team selection when we beat Spain 3-0 in February 2001?
Sven's first starting XI: James: P Neville, Ferdinand, Campbell, Powell; Beckham, Butt, Scholes, Barmby; Andy Cole, Owen.
Lets hope he gets it right this year in Germany!

Pompey Fightback
Mark Fowler, manager of Stay Up Pompey moves up to 4th, he says ‘ I owe my success to this great blog’.
Mike Bosley (Bozzies Babes) moves from 13the to 8th. With an impressive 43, he’s come a long way from when he got just 1 point earlier in the season. Mike would like to say ‘This Blogs advice has really helped me, thanks Jon’
Thanks lads for those kind words.
Richard Maxwell (Mint Tea) moves to number 3.
Dave Knowles with ‘1977,1978,1981,1984 & 2005 Thank you’ is still second but there is no change at the top with Andy Clarke still out front.
A gap is forming between the top 5 and rest of the top 10.

Sean Returns
Andy Clarke retakes the lead, and Jason lee drops to 5th and now has Mark Fowler breathing down the back of his neck, very uncomfortable!
Watch out for John Kirkland and Richard Maxwell battling it our for 3rd and MikeCalverley moves to 9th from 14th.
The top ten looks like this and the sad news is I’m at 14th.
The only good news is Sunny has dropped down to 19th so its true that every cloud has a silver lining.

It’s the FA cup at the weekend, so lots of players may be rested. I think teams who are over 800 points now still have a chance to win it.

Well done to Jason Lee’s second team, sorry I mean his daughters Hannah’s! For getting the top score of 61 and moving up to 8th.
Andy Clarke back at 2 is looking good, but mint tea concentrating on the Liverpool defence is starting to lose ground.
Henry has scored finally over the holidays and I’m hoping he will do the business in the coming months.
