In The Mix with Bombay Mix Lee

My team is down to 12th,not the best weekend for me again also the FA Cup games did not go for me.

The top 3 is still looking very close, with only 14 points separating 3rd from 1st and 2 points from 2nd to 3rd.

It still looks like its between the top 3. But if Martin keeps on making gains of 20 points a week he may do it!

Subs will be very important. Picking that one player who can get those extra points will make all the difference, but the big news was Chelsea V Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi final. With a lot of people having both sets of defenders it will be very interesting.

Special Mention this week goes to Jason Lee manager of ‘Outsource IT Direct’ (Does he know something we don’t?) He retakes the lead with a score of 86 points. He likes points as much as he likes Indian food!

Sunny is at 18th. Don’t worry Sunny I will come down to your team you don’t need to try and catch me up!

The top 10 looks like this

1) Outsource IT Direct (86 this week) Total = 1386
2) 1977,1978,1981,1984 & 2005 Thank you (67 this week) Total = 1356
3) Mint tea (78 this week) Total = 1354
4) Hannahs Heroes FC (101 This Week) Total = 1337
5) Carpball 30lber’s (107 this week) Total = 1324

Carp and Chips

My team is down to 9th,not the best weekend for me or last night as Cech and Ferreira did not play!

The top 3 is looking very close, with only 13 points separating 3rd from 1st and 6 points from 2nd to 3rd.

It still looks like its between the top 3. But with all the points from this weeks FA Cup games and still 9 games to go any one in the top 5 might.

Subs will be very important. Last week I said ‘As rare as a liverpool striker scoring!’ Now they cannot stop scoring! If you want too win just do the reverse of what I say.

Special Mention this week goes to yet again Martin Seward manager of ‘Carpball 30Lbers’ He moves from 9th to 8th with the score of 44 points. But he is one of the few managers with Crouch in his side and his 2 goals and MOTM award should move him further to the top.

Sunny is at joint 19th. The surge to the top has started!

The top 10 looks like this

1)1977,1978,1981,1984 & 2005 Thank you (36 this week) Total = 1289
2)Outsource IT Direct (39 this week) Total = 1282

Jimmy Johnstone

Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone died yesterday at the age of 61 after a long battle with motor neurone disease.

Johnstone was a member of Celtic's Lisbon Lions team, who became the first British side to win the European Cup when they beat Inter Milan in 1967.

Johnstone scored over 100 goals for Celtic, won 23 caps for Scotland and in 2002 was voted Celtic's greatest player by supporters of the club.

He was part of the Celtic side who won 9 titles in a row.

A true great of the beautiful game.

Mourinho Quotes

The weekend brought Mourinho again to the back pages of the newspapers.
Either you love him or hate him, but at present you cant argue with his results.

Here are some classic quotes from the man!

On his arrival - June 2004

We have top players and, sorry if I'm arrogant, we have a top manager.

I'm not a defender of old or new football managers. I believe in good ones and bad ones, those that achieve success and those that don't. Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one.

On losing to Charlton in the carliong cup 2005

I want to give my congratulations to them because they won. But we were the best team. We didn't lose the game. Ninety minutes was a draw and it was a draw after two hours. We lost on penalties.

On leading the title race February 2005

We are on top at the moment but not because of the club's financial power. We are in contention for a lot of trophies because of my hard work

On Arsene Wenger 2005

I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur. He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea.

A great quote but not sure what he's going on about!

The moral of the story is not to listen to those who tell you not to play the violin but stick to the tambourine.

Peter Osgood

Chelsea and Southampton legend Peter Osgood died yesterday at the age of 59.
Osgood collapsed while attending a family funeral service on Wednesday at Slough crematorium.
Dubbed the 'King of Stamford Bridge' he made 380 appearances for Chelsea and scored 150 goals, helping them win the 1970 FA Cup and 1971 Cup Winners' Cup.

He then joined the Saints in 1974 and guided the Second Division club to victory over Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup final.

My team is still at 10th I did not make any substutions at the weekend but not gaining on the leaders!

The top 5 is not looking very close, with only 56 points separating 5th from 1st.
